  20. here's an interesting suggestion... check for magnetic fields.  My friend 
  21. had a crappy USR (aren't they all??) that would throw the on-hook 
  22. off-hook relay every few seconds.  QUITE annoying habit, and sound, as it 
  23. would do this whenever the PCee was on.
